How do you know if a Shamanic session is right for you?
Our Shamanic Practice is centered around targeted healing, spirit mediation, and soul guidance. While a healing from a Clairvoyant reading is great for an overall checkup and supportive healing, Shamanic healing is suited for targeted deep cleaning through the aid of spirit guides. This benefits clients who have specific concerns they wish to address through a Shamanic world view. With this approach, the practitioner plays the role of spirit mediator on behalf of the client. This mediator may travel to the spirit world to attain information, negotiate, or ask for assistance to resolve a spiritual matter. As part of healing work, clients benefit from a targeted energy cleansing. In some cases a spirit releasement (crossing over) or removal of foreign energy is appropriate. Clients may also regain their personal power by retrieving a soul part or by connecting with their power animal. The support of helping guides allows this to be an organic approach, and although some techniques are mentioned here, each healing journey may reveal itself as it unfolds.
About Shamanism
Shamanism is not only the oldest system of spiritual practice, it can also be found in many different cultures all around the world. As with these differing cultures, Shamanism too has diverse expressions and traditions. In spite of this diversity, there are universal consistencies in approach, all of which utilize the roles Shamans play in service of their communities. A Shaman may take on different spiritual roles that can include leadership, ceremony, divination, mediation, healing, story telling, and soul guidance.
Here, in modern-day Western society, there is a great community need for such roles to be filled. Many of us are in need of soul healing or wish to reconnect with our spiritual power. But due to our history, many of us have lost our links to the spiritual traditions that help us do this. However, some have felt the calling to go back, retrace these connections, and fulfill their spiritual roles. In consideration of traditional Shamanism, there is an ongoing debate about wether one should only recognize traditional culture-bound initiates, or embrace practitioners of modern Western society as well. Here at Sovereign Heart Healing we fall under the latter group. Yet with deep respect to Traditional Shamans who are clan initiated, we recognize that only they can rightfully hold the title and position of “Shaman." This is why we use the descriptor, “Practitioner.”
Historically, even neighboring Shamans had differing practices. This can be a reflection of the uniqueness of an individual and their talents, as well as the highly personal relationship one has with their working guides. This is true of our practice as well. Our guides have been incredibly helpful integrators of this ancient tradition. It's exciting and beautiful that each practitioner can discover their own kind of medicine.
